Coast Guard recovers body at Cape Blanco

The U.S. Coast Guard recovered a man's body Wednesday afternoon from the wreckage of a sailboat in the vicinity of Cape Blanco, according to a press release.

The body was flown to North Bend, but the victim's identity was being withheld at press time pending notification of next of kin.

According to a press release, Coast Guard searchers found the wreckage around 2:20 p.m., following a 24-hour search hampered by low visibility and fog. The search began after the Coast Guard received a distress call at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation will be continuing.
